Porsche goes green

At Green Ghost Towers, we have been checking out the new addition to the stable of Porsche.  Keen to keep people driving at break neck speed the boffins have developed a hybrid sports car that not only goes from 0 – 100km/h in 3.2 seconds it produces little more carbon dioxide than the Toyota Primus.

In tests, the Porsche 918 Spyder produces 70g/km whilst the Primus just beats it at 89 g/km yet does not have the low fuel consumption of the Porsche that, at 94 mpg is putting more than a few super minis to shame. So how does it all work? To start there is a high performance V8 engine producing 500bph with a maximum engine speed of 9200 rpm.  Add to this the two electric motors on the front and rear axels run by Lithium-ion batteries capable of being charged at home through the domestic electric supply.

With the lighter shell and body panels, style and use of every space possible the stylish two seat sports car will turn a few heads and give a polite fingers up to the green brigade – in the nicest possible way of course. Have a look at the Porsche site for more information www.porsche.com
